A Note from Travis

Dear Chapel Family,

The first Sunday of the fall ministry season is always an important moment in the life of our church. Tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 18) we will chart the course for this year's annual focus, launch a new sermon series entitled, The Movement of God's People, and look ahead to our Chapel-wide small group study on the series. The sermons look at the 40 day and 40 year journeys we find in Scripture and help us understand how God moves His people and how God's people can participate in His movement. This series will help us reflect on 40 years of God's faithfulness to our church community as we look ahead to celebrating the Chapel's 40th anniversary later this fall.

Tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m in the Worship Room, we will hold our 3rd quarter Chapel Family Update. We will have a fall ministry update, a finance update, and then spend the bulk of our time taking an in-depth look at the annual focus so that we might deepen our understanding of God's calling for the upcoming year. If the Chapel is your church home, please consider joining us tomorrow night.

Finally, I would like to share that our Starting Point class will take place tomorrow morning from 10:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m. in Room 156. Starting Point is the place to start if you desire to get connected at the Chapel. We already have over 40 people registered for Starting Point. To date this is our largest registered group by far! We long to see more and more people get connected to Jesus Christ alongside a community that can help nurture that connection, so please know that walk-ins are also welcome.

The fall is a time when people are trying, many for the first time, to incorporate church into their lives. We expect to have increased numbers of visitors tomorrow and throughout the fall. We desire to welcome everyone well, so if you are able, please consider parking at Jamestown High School and walking or taking one of the shuttle buses. While we do have space in our Worship Room, often we do not have spaces in our parking lot. My walk from Jamestown High School each Sunday morning gives me a moment to enjoy the beauty of God's creation and prepare my heart to worship Him. Please join me on that walk or utilize our shuttle service.

To God be the glory! Great things He has done for 40 years at the Chapel, and great things He will continue to do tomorrow, this fall, and according to His providence for 40 more years to come!

See you tomorrow,

Travis Simone, Lead Pastor
