News from Our Chapel Family Update Meeting

Posted by Travis Simone on

Dear Chapel Family,
Last Sunday evening’s Chapel Family Update was an important mile marker for our church. Here is a brief recap of the meeting:
1. We praised God for His financial provision in 2014—offerings for 2014 exceeded expenses by approximately $100,000! We thank God for displaying His faithfulness through the generosity of the Chapel Family.
2. We looked ahead to our 2015 budget—the Elders have approved a 3.8 million dollar operating budget for 2015.
3. We listened for God’s Word to the Chapel in Mark 4:35-41—in this scene Jesus asks His disciples to get into a boat with Him and leads them into some unexpected events. Jesus continues to ask our church to climb into His boat and allow Him to take us to places that will grow us into a deeper relationship with Him. Whatever changes or transitions 2015 holds, we know we are in the boat with Jesus.
4. We received news of how God is moving on the Chapel staff team—in particular, Rob Campbell, our Executive of Administration, announced his retirement from his current role to follow God’s calling in a new phase of his life and ministry. Rob’s remarks were spiritually moving and instructive for how we all must listen to Jesus’ voice and obey. I am asking everyone who calls the Chapel their church home to take 20 minutes and listen to Rob’s comments. God used Rob’s remarks to increase my understanding of Jesus’ character and His call to obedience. I trust God will use the video below to do the same in your life.
Rob has given 18 years of his life to make sure Jesus’ mission at the Chapel was fulfilled with complete integrity. I am grateful for his humble and steady service, his pioneering spirit, as well as the depth of wisdom he brought to our team. We look forward to celebrating all that God has done and will do through Rob and his wife, Tina, in the months ahead. For now, let us all thank the Campbells by giving our full attention to Rob’s own words so that we might hear Jesus’ calling in his life and in our own lives more clearly.
To God be the glory, great things He has done and greater things He will continue to do when we follow, obey, and remain in Jesus’ boat.
In Christ,
Travis Simone
