Get to know this year's Student Ministry Summer Interns!

Andrew Henry

Hello! My name is Andrew Henry and I am very happy to be a part of the Student Ministry staff this summer! I was a member of the Jamestown High School Class of 2017 and am currently a rising Second Year at the University of Virginia (UVA). I am officially undecided in regards to my major, but I plan on declaring Religious Studies as a Major or Minor next spring. Aside from academics, I am highly involved in UVA's Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship. I am very fortunate to call myself a longtime member of the Chapel family, and my heart lies especially with Student Ministries. As someone who has been a part of Middle School (both as a member and a leader) and High School Ministries, I know what it means to lead and be lead; it means to serve and be served. As an intern this summer, I hope to give back to the Chapel community that has given so much to me, doing whatever I can to serve the Kingdom of God and help His children imitate Christ. I pray that, in the process, I may be made new as well.

Hannah Dowdy

Hi, I’m Hannah Dowdy! I’m so happy to be a part of the Student Ministry team this summer as an intern! Chapel has played a huge part in my faith and it’s exciting to get the opportunity to give back to the place where it all started. Beginning at Midweek in eighth grade, Chapel has been the place where I went on my first mission trip, joined my first small group, and made the decision to get baptized. It’s also the place that encouraged me to get plugged into a Christian ministry in college, which for me, was InterVarsity at JMU (go dukes!). There, I received the most amazing gift of leading a small group for two years, and as of May 5th, a degree in Psychology and Spanish. In the Fall I will be pursuing a master’s degree in Counselor Education at UVA, and I look forward to seeing the ways the Lord moves this summer and uses what I’ve learned to shape my career as a school counselor.

Wade Fritzeen

Hello, my name is Wade Fritzeen and I am a recent graduate from the College of William & Mary. I received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. Along with my studies, I worked as a personal trainer at the campus recreation center, volunteered as a Young Life Capernaum leader and attended Tribe Fellowship. I have attended the Chapel since I was a freshman and immediately felt welcomed and connected to the church community. One of the things I love about the Chapel is the opportunities and emphasis on service. Two programs I have been most involved with through the Chapel include West Wing Thanksgiving and Worship Buddies. I am excited that my time and service at the Chapel will continue this summer as a part of the Student Ministry staff. I believe this internship will be a great way for me to transition into the Trinity Fellows Program in Charlottesville, VA next year where I will further discern my vocational calling.

CJ Montero

My name is CJ Montero and am a rising third year at the University of Virginia pursuing a double major in Financials Economics and Religious Studies. I have been attending the chapel since high school and have used the WCC as a strong base to find a real community. At UVA, I am a member of Chi Alpha, a Christian fellowship on grounds, and am preparing to lead a group of students this coming year. My time at UVA has been amazing and I look forward to bringing my knowledge gained during the internship back to grounds. I am excited to work with the students that attend the chapel and reflect back on my time in their shoes worshiping a God like ours in an amazing setting like the Chapel.

Daniel Bunn

Hello, my name is Daniel Bunn and I am very excited to be a member of the Student Ministry team this summer. I grew up in Williamsburg and graduated from Williamsburg Christian Academy. I was a member of the Chapel growing up and have met many of my friends through chapel youth events. I am currently attending James Madison University in Harrisonburg as a Business Management major. As a former Williamsburg high school student, I am looking forward to getting involved in the student ministry program and investing time in something that positively influence me. Along with my classes, I am involved in Intervarsity on campus at JMU. I have lead a small group of freshman guys for the previous year and have learned a lot through this experience. I am hoping to continue to learn and grow in my faith this summer through serving the Student Ministry Program.

Connor Grubbs

Hello, my name is Connor Grubbs and I am thrilled to be a Student Ministry Summer Intern! My family and I have been attending the Chapel since moving to Williamsburg in 2012. I attended Jamestown High School, graduating in 2016, and am now entering into my 3rd year at the University of Virginia. I am a member of the School of Engineering and Applied Science studying Biomedical Engineering. Throughout high school I worked at the Chapel in various realms, leading Midweek, Sunday school, VBS, and serving as a Senior Mentee. In Charlottesville I have continued working in the Kingdom through Chi Alpha Christian Ministries. With Chi Alpha I have had the pleasure of leading 1st year Men’s small groups as well as serving communities in Colorado and Muscat, Oman as a Missionary. This summer, I am excited to get back to the Chapel to work with middle and high school students again and continue to grow as both a disciple and disciple maker.
