Online Giving – Safe, Secure, & Effective!

Give a one-time gift or create an account to set up scheduled giving—an effective way to give when you are out of town or unable to attend a weekend service. Online giving is also the most cost-efficient way for the Chapel to receive financial gifts. By giving online, we free up people and funds to be applied in other areas of our disciple-making mission. Financial gifts may still be made by cash or check on Sunday mornings or by mail. For all questions related to giving, please refer to our FAQ or email

FAQ

Q: Is it safe to give online?
Yes. In many ways, giving online is safer than writing a check because an electronic gift cannot be lost or stolen. The security of the system is continually managed by a 3rd party, Vanco Services, LLC, a PCI (Payment Card Industry) Level 1 Compliant Service Provider that processes contributions for more than 11,000 churches and nonprofit organizations. Vanco Services provides the highest level of security and confidentiality in processing all electronic transactions, guaranteeing that the Williamsburg Community Chapel will never be in possession of any consumer payment information.

Q: Why should I set up an account?
The Chapel highly encourages members and regular attendees to create accounts. Creating an account provides many benefits:

  • Allows a convenient way to set up scheduled giving
  • Stores your basic information in the secure system to provide a quicker and more convenient way to give
  • Provides the ability to designate gifts to multiple funds
  • Is the most efficient and cost-effective way for Chapel staff to process your gifts—freeing up man-hours to be applied directly to other areas of our disciple-making mission.

Q: Why is giving via debit/credit cards not available when I log into my account?
When giving via Debit/Credit Cards, the church will incur up to a 4% fee of the amount donated. For this reason, giving via checking/savings account is always the Chapel’s preferred method and allows 100% of your contribution to be used towards our disciple-making mission. For example, if a gift of $100 is given, the Chapel will only receive approximately $96 if given via Debit/Credit Card. This is why giving via Checking/Savings account is highly encouraged.

We do offer the option to pay via Debit/Credit cards via the One-Time Gift option. This option is intended for our guests, as well as for occasional one-time events such as concerts or registrations.

Q: If I want to set-up a recurring gift, what are my options for frequency of my gift?
For recurring gifts, you have the option of giving Weekly, Semi-Monthly (1st & 15th), Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually.

Q: Can I change my personal information or the amount or the frequency of my gift once I have set up my account?
Yes. You can change or cancel your contribution at any time before the date of your next contribution. Simply log into the system using your username and password and make the necessary changes.

Q: Will contributions given in person be linked with contributions given online?
Yes. However, the online giving portal will only allow you to view the complete history of your contributions given online. To access your history for all contributions, please create an Access ACS Account or log in to your existing one. Once logged in, click the Home tab and then click My Giving History. Please note that all contributions may not appear until the transaction has been posted to the church's financial records.

Q: Will I still receive regular contribution statements from the church?
Yes. The church will continue to send year-end contribution statements to your address on file for tax purposes.

Q: How will I know that I set up my gift correctly?
Immediately after submitting your contribution, you will receive an e-mail verifying your contribution.

Q: Can I still give via cash or check?
Of course! Financial gifts may still be made by cash or check on Sunday mornings or by mail to:
