April 2021 Spiritual & Financial Update

April 2021 Spiritual & Financial Update

by Travis Simone on May 14, 2021

Dear Chapel Family,

As part of our worship services this past Sunday, I shared our spiritual and financial update for the month of April. During that update, we welcomed back Chris and Angie Vannoy, active members of the Chapel who moved to the Middle East over 20 years ago. Please click the image below to hear how Jesus is providing and working through the generosity of the Chapel family.

For our financial reports throughout the year, more information on giving, or to give, please visit wcchapel.org/giving

As they mentioned in their update, the Chapel has been faithfully supporting the Vannoys’ efforts to make an impact in the marketplace overseas as they live out their faith at work every day. While preparing last Sunday’s message on the Great Commission, I asked Angie how she saw their efforts connecting with Jesus’ command. Angie wrote:

Jesus offers each of us the same invitation Angie described in her story – the invitation to participate in “as I am going” disciple-making that draws us and others into deeper relationship with Him. Our giving also plays a role in the Great Commission as we not only provide resources for partners to engage in faithful living around the world, but also as we live out our own faith day by day, empowered by Jesus’ promise: “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20b) We give back to a God who has not only given everything for us, but who also promises to be with us as we do. Let us continue to trust in Jesus’ provision “as we are going” to make disciples.

See you Sunday – inside, outside, and online

P.S. We are continuing to monitor the changes in public health guidelines. One of our principles during this season has been, “Grace, grace, and more grace.” It may take some time for federal and state guidance to align. I ask for your grace as I work with our team to care for our Chapel family and to discern how to appropriately submit to the teaching of God’s Word in Romans 13:1 – “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”
