Celebrating VBS 2020!

Last week, we experienced a much different VBS in homes all over Williamsburg. Through online videos, music, and activities, children learned that we can TRUST GOD! As part of their mission project, more than 25bags of donations were collected and delivered to the House of Mercy.

Here is one testimony from a VBS mom:

"Initially I had some reservations about super local/virtual VBS because so much of the traditional VBS experience is the large group and in person relationships and skits. That being said, we had a great and memorable experience doing VBS with our quarantine group! My kids lamented after it ended and expressed that they wish VBS could last all year. The biggest highlights for us were connecting with our daughter’s school friend and meeting her family as they attended church, participated in VBS, and came to the VBS events, and the VBS bus visit — where Moses and Malachi shared popsicles, while gloved and masked, with our whole 8 and under swim team. Our son, Ben, was so excited to see the bus!"

Snapshot of Jude: "Contend for the Faith" (Jude 1:1-3, 17-25)

Hunter spoke on how we love to fight, but are we fighting for our faith and the truth of God's word? We must contend for the faith! How do we contend for the faith? Know the opponent, choose your weapons, and remember our Commander. Hunter asked us to consider committing to the 7-by-7 Challenge –– spending 7 minutes a day reading the Word for 7 days a week. As a family of faith, let us commit to being in God's Word so that we can be equipped to contend for our faith.

Travis provided another spiritual and financial update before our offertory and discussed one important piece of our 2020 Stewardship Plan: the reduction of the size of our staff team. Please click the image below to watch that update.

On Sunday evening, we gathered again under the tent to discuss the full 2020 Stewardship Plan, which included six recommendations approved by the elders. We also took questions and listened to congregational feedback. The video of that time can be found HERE.
