Fix Our Eyes – Jesus’ Teaching about Family: “Who are my mother and my brothers?”: (Mark 3:31-35)

In Mark 3:31-35, Jesus asks, “Who are my mother and brothers?” and then answered His own question with, “Whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother.” The reality of being family with other followers of Jesus is both radical and transformational. As brothers and sisters of Jesus, we share several family values — generosity, diversity, civility, life, and purity. Christians in the early church embraced and lived out these family values because they saw Jesus embrace and live them out. May we embrace and live out these same values today to represent Jesus in a fallen world.

Volunteer Opportunities

Adopt-a-Mission Partner

One great opportunity to serve in this season is to “adopt” one of our local or global missions partners. “Adoption” simply means coming alongside your partner in various ways, such as committing to pray for their specific needs. Other ways to engage with your adopted partner include building relationships, serving at their location, and donating your time, talents, or treasures. When you adopt a partner, your first step is to commit to prayer and then allow the Lord to direct next steps. For more information, contact Elizabeth Duncan at , (757) 229-7152, or visit online at wcchapel.org/missions.
