Fix Our Eyes – Jesus' Warnings about Money: "No one can serve two masters": (Matthew 6:19-24)
As Rich taught us on Sunday, we are all treasure hunters of sorts, dedicating ourselves to finding approval, status, control, or other “treasures” we feel we lack. In Matthew 6, Jesus has something to say about treasure hunting. Jesus teaches that our first step is to see what true treasure is (Matt. 6:22-23). Once we see true treasure, we must then seek that true treasure (Matt. 6:19-21) and finally move beyond seeking to serving heavenly treasure (Matt. 6:24). Ultimately, we see, seek, and serve the True Treasure because the True Treasure, Jesus Christ, has given His life in seeking us.
