Chapel Weekly Email - May 18, 2021
by Williamsburg Community Chapel on May 18, 2021
In the gospel of Luke, Jesus told his disciples that they were "witnesses of these things”. Later in Acts, Jesus continues tells His disciples that they are now to become witnesses to others or in other words tells others what they have seen. Jesus calls His disciples to be witnesses anywhere and everywhere they find themselves and so we need to ask ourselves some important questions: Where have you seen the resurrected Christ? Will you worship Him and then go to become His witness? How can you become a better witness?

One of the Chapel’s small groups is partnering with Lackey Clinic to collect over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Lackey is a free and charitable healthcare center that provides high-quality medical, dental, vision, and other services for our low-income, uninsured adult neighbors. Needed items include: unopened containers of Claritin/Zyrtec/Benadryl, Flonase/Nasacort, cough syrup/drops, vitamin D/multivitamins, Tylenol/Ibuprofen/Aspirin, Miralax, iron/fiber supplements, and/or probiotics. Please join us in helping our neighbors by dropping contributions into the boxes located by the information desk in the Main Foyer or at the reception desk at the north entrance during the week. Please also let your friends and neighbors know of this outreach opportunity! Contact: Terry Lowe,
Each year, the Chapel family nominates members from our church body to serve on our Elder Team. Due to the public health challenges in 2020, the elders postponed the Annual Meeting until it was safe to conduct the gathering and maintain the integrity of the elder election process. After approving a revised timeline, the target date for the 2021 Annual Meeting is September 12. Elder nominations will be received through the month of May. In this 6-part series, Leslie Leyland Fields, author, speaker, and seasoned Alaskan fisherwoman, takes us on a journey through the life of Christ. She leads us across the waters of time and culture out onto the Sea of Galilee, through a rugged season of commercial fishing with her family in Alaska, and through the waters of the New Testament beside the ragtag fishermen known as the disciples. Her own story and her fresh insights will challenge our understanding of Jesus and what He means when He says, “Come, follow me.” This study will take place through small groups (in-person or online).
