Chapel Weekly Email - May 25, 2021

This Past Sunday

Fix Our Eyes on Jesus the Sender: "I am sending you.": (John 20:19-23)

Dale taught us that God has a mission, God's mission has a Church, and God's Church makes disciples. Dale then defined a growing disciple as someone who is learning to think like Jesus thinks, love like Jesus loves, and submit to God’s will like Jesus submitted to God’s will. In other words, a disciple bears God's image to the world. However, the image of God in humanity has been corrupted by sin. Dale used John 20:19-23 to teach us that we need the Holy Spirit to restore God’s image in us and it is only through the power of the Holy Spirit that we will be able to live out the calling to make disciples.

So, What is your next step in growing as a disciple and disciple-maker of Jesus? Where does God want to change how you think, how you love, and how you submit to Him? What do you think your next step in following Jesus is? Will you take that step?

Last week to make Elder Nominations

Each year, the Chapel family nominates members from our church body to serve on our Elder Team. Due to the public health challenges in 2020, the elders postponed the Annual Meeting until it was safe to conduct the gathering and maintain the integrity of the elder election process. After approving a revised timeline, the target date for the 2021 Annual Meeting is September 12. Elder nominations will be received through the month of May. Donations needed for Lackey Clinic

One of the Chapel’s small groups is partnering with Lackey Clinic to collect over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Lackey is a free and charitable healthcare center that provides high-quality medical, dental, vision, and other services for our low-income, uninsured adult neighbors. Needed items include: unopened containers of Claritin/Zyrtec/Benadryl, Flonase/Nasacort, cough syrup/drops, vitamin D/multivitamins, Tylenol/Ibuprofen/Aspirin, Miralax, iron/fiber supplements, and/or probiotics. Please join us in helping our neighbors by dropping contributions into the boxes located by the information desk in the Main Foyer or at the reception desk at the north entrance during the week. Please also let your friends and neighbors know of this outreach opportunity! Contact: Terry Lowe,

Online Worshiper Survey

As we begin to see more worshipers in-person on Sunday mornings, we hope to receive feedback so we can determine how to continue to heed God's call to meet people wherever they are spiritually and physically. If you worship with us online then please take some time to fill out our online worshiper survey by clicking the button below.
