March 24: Note to Our Chapel Family

Posted by Jessica Grimes on

Dear Chapel Family,

It’s been a week of adjusting to a new normal for all of us. Like many of you, I’ve been learning how to keep my kids engaged with their schooling, keeping my family healthy, and dealing with the stress and anxiety that comes with not knowing what the future holds — I’m mentally exhausted. But I am thankful for God’s Word and the ability to still come together to worship so that we can be encouraged in a time like this – even in a different way.

In his Sunday sermon referencing Jesus feeding the 5,000, Travis said, “Jesus fills us until we are full.” How do I allow Jesus to fill me? Travis noted that, “We can be filled with fear or filled with prayer.” I’m choosing to fill myself with prayer. I’m choosing to not be afraid but to call out to Jesus whenever those negative thoughts try to fill me instead. My hope for our church is that we experience the fullness of Jesus more than ever through prayer – that we can grow as a community during this time, spreading encouragement and continuing to worship our gracious God who loves us.

As we continue to provide resources and make updates to our website, we thank you for your partnership and patience as we work through this new reality for our church. In addition to the Chapel-wide emails, you can use the following resources to help stay connected to Jesus’ community at the Chapel:

Digital Devotions and Prayer
Join us Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 2 pm EST for our LIVE Digital Devotions on Facebook where we will be led in devotion, corporate prayer, and worship. If you cannot join us at that time, or are not on Facebook, the most recent video will be posted here. You can also refer back to our Psalms Reflection Challenge from two years ago to pray through.

Sunday Worship Service
Join us every Sunday for a full worship service video. It will be posted by 9 am EST on Facebook or

Prayer Wall
During this health crisis, many people are faced with challenges (lost jobs, unpaid bills, sickness).  The power of prayer is the power of God, who promises to answer our prayers.  "I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God: incline your ear to me; hear my words" (Psalm 17:6). Submit a prayer request or join in the privilege of praying for others at our Prayer Wall

As it says in John 6:12,  “And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” May we all seek to be filled with Jesus day by day, filled to overflowing, and not lose any of the precious gifts He provides.
