May 19: A Note to our Chapel Family

Posted by Bill Price on

Dear Chapel Family,

In the sermon this past Sunday, Pastor Rich reminded us that the redeeming blood of Christ joins us to one another, bridging all cultures, races, and ages through the power of the gospel. No matter what our various differences might be, we all “need Jesus to save” us. Our prayer is that we will commit not to build walls, but to be built together with the bonds of peace.

Worshiping Jesus Christ has always been the place where believers find that connection to God and to one another. As your Choral Ministry Director, I am excited to announce that we are beginning a new monthly online worship service called “Evensong,” which will enhance our spiritual connections and allow us to be built together in Christ. This evening of worship and prayer will be made available online on the last Friday night of each month. Evensong will feature prayer, Scripture reading, and extended times of singing in a format similar to our recent Good Friday service. Join us beginning at 6 pm on Friday, May 29 for our first Evensong service. For more information, visit

While our Evensong service will provide us yet another important opportunity to worship together online, we realize that many in our Chapel family are wondering when we will begin worshiping together once again onsite at the Chapel campus. As we have previously announced, we have established a Re-Opening Team comprised of members from our staff, which will be planning the process for and timing of our re-opening strategy for onsite services and ministry at our church. The Re-Opening Team will be utilizing a variety of resources to accomplish this task. The team is also operating under biblical parameters in an effort to best love and care for our church and our community at this time. For these reasons, we encourage you to pray for the Re-Opening Team throughout this process. We will keep you updated on any developments through our regular communication avenues. Please send any feedback, perspective, or concerns to .

Finally, please see below for additional ways that you can be built up together as you connect with Christ and His community at our church.

Sunday Worship Service

Join us every Sunday for a full worship service video, posted by 9 am EST on Facebook or

Digital Devotions and Prayer

Join us Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 2 pm EST for our LIVE Digital Devotions on Facebook where we will be led in devotion, corporate prayer, and worship. If you cannot join us at that time, or are not on Facebook, the most recent video will be posted here. You can also refer back to our Psalms Reflection Challenge from two years ago to pray through.

Prayer Wall

During this health crisis, many people are faced with challenges (lost jobs, unpaid bills, sickness). The power of prayer is the power of God, who promises to answer our prayers. "I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God: incline your ear to me; hear my words" (Psalm 17:6). Submit a prayer request or join in the privilege of praying for others at our Prayer Wall.
