Sunday, January 10, 2021 - Sunday, February 07, 2021
The Chapel is hosting the COFM homeless winter shelter January 10- February 7, 2021.
Chapel volunteers will only be covering the first week of that time frame. The following weeks, while Chapel will be the COFM site, other churches will be partnering with COFM to host our guests. Please join us in sharing Jesus’ love with those most vulnerable in our community. Morning, evening and overnight shifts are available. Mandatory training sessions will be offered and aseparate sign-up will be provided for training. This year, due to CDC and VDH guidelines, attending a training will be required to serve at the shelter, even if you have volunteered with us for years (thank you!). All volunteer responsibilities are designed for adults and teens 13 years and up serving with their parents/guardians. We love small group participation during shelter week, however please be mindful of the number of volunteers specified for a particular time slot so as not to overwhelm our guests. Larger groups, please consider dividing your group across multiple shifts so that all may have the opportunity to serve.
